Buckled my first MTB wheel!

Hello
Rather surprisingly I managed to buckle my first bike wheel at the weekend - I had always (mistakingly!) assumed that being a fairly light rider I wouldn't ever do this!! Notax and I were belting along some singletrack when my front wheel washed out and BANG - I hit the deck with my front wheel fortunately taking all the impack rather than my arm / collar bone etc :?
Rather an expensive off as the wheel wasn't repairable, so had to get a new one, but amazed that I was actually riding fast enough to do some much damage
Not much damage to me apart from a few scrapes and bruises!
Mavic XC719 replaced with a ZTR Flow if anyones interested

I ended up getting a completely new wheel as we were on the first day of a 4 day break, but will either keep the previous hub for spares myself or sell it. Still has lots of life left in it!
