MK wont fit my alpine rims

Hi, i have a mountain king 2.4 protection fitted to my hardtail. I have some ZTR Alpines for my full sus build and wanted to use the mk as the front tyre. Tried fitting it today and cant get it to stretch over the last bit. tried and tried but wouldnt go. My rocket Rons however fitted without any probs and the mk fitted back to my other rims no problem. Do i have to use tubeless tyres on the Alpines?

    Just make sure the tyre bead is sitting in the central, deepest part of the rim well. Keep pressing the bead on the side you're fitting into the center of the rim, it will go in.

    Cheers mate, that makes perfect sense now you mention it.
    There is quite a difference in size from the central rebate to the outer edge. Will give it another go tonight now I've calmed down.
