As the tittle says pretty much finished it off. I wanted to replace my old XT chainset with a new one and external bottom bracket. But was only able to remove the drive side of the old chainset.

Any suggestions for getting the bolt out. Once out I can use an old fashioned cabinets removal tool

    Nick,

Not sure what you'r asking, but hav you tried drilling a hole in the centre and then expanding it to remove the head, crank should then pull off. failing that you could centre drill and try an easy out.

    What XT crankset is it?

It's on my GT Avalanche, if you look on the link in my signature you can see it here. However I believe it's a XT FC-M752
