Greetings,

I live in the north of Spain in Asturias; home of Chechu Rubiera and Olympic champion Samuel Sanchez and some of the most beautiful mountainous cycling in Europe. It is a region where the mountains meet the sea, lush and green. It is also an area where it is difficult to impossible to find a flat place to ride. So for those who don´t like hills you may want to stop here.

A friend of mine is starting up a cycling touring company that will mostly include logistics and connecting travelers to appropriate links for hotels, hostals, B&Bs, flight travel, transfers via, bus, train, hired van etc. The company plans to include the famous Camino de Santiago as one of it´s packages.

My interest is to help in the area of local bike tours and especially cycling tours or rides to professional races. For those who have visited the Tour de France or Giro de Italia, why not try La Vuelta de España, which usually visits Asturias for some of the most decisive mountain stages of the race. This year for example Asturias will host three consecutive mountain stages including the legendary climb to Los Lagos. With Alberto Contador back in action, it will be packed with action. http://www.steephill.tv/vuelta-a-espana/

There is also the Vuelta de Asturias; a 4-5 day race usually held around the end of April. It was one of the races Miguel Indurain road each year as his early build up to the TdF.

For La Vuelta part of the package would include some form of meetings with the Euskadi team as well as other Spanish national racers and teams.

Other nearby races outside of Asturias that could be included would be The Vuelta al Pais Vasco http://www.steephill.tv/vuelta-al-pais-vasco/ and La Vuelta Castilla y Leon http://www.steephill.tv/vuelta-castilla-y-leon/.

There are also a number of Gran Fondos that could be included depending on client interest. Below are links to some of them.

2011: XVIII Prueba Cicloturista Internacional Pedro Delgado. Miguel Indurain

To wrap this up. We are looking to hear from anyone interested in any of these possibilities. We are also open to any type of cycling visits you may have in mind other than the above ones mentioned. Please don´t hesitate to ask any questions you may have. The company is working on it´s websit and I will post it when it is up and running.

I will check back here every few days to see about interest and to answer any questions.

See you on the road.
