Ok, I had some PPi claim money back, and decided to splash out and upgrade my GT Avalanche 3.0.
After nearly 2 hours, I finally chose some wheels.... Superstar Stan's deal:
Stan's Crest rims, black spokes, black Evo2 hubs:
Once built, I've saved 512g over the stock items! (wheels only)
So, with having rims that can go tubeless, I decided to splash more out and get new tyres:

On wheels and tyres alone, once completely built up with tyres, I'll be 2512g lighter (against my previous tyre/wheel combo)
I've also bought from a chap on here, a Brave D-Lux bar - 700mm
I'm also considering going 9 speed, just got some shifters off ebay for £3. I have a 9 speed cassette, but no chain, nor the knowhow, on how to setup my rear derailer for 9 speed. I know its compatiable for 9 speed... thats about it. But the only advantage I'll get really, is an extra gear, and save around 200g in weight.
Oh, and as I have new bars coming, I've also order some new grips.... blue middles with yellow lock rings.
I'm like a kid at chirstmas waiting for all this to come in the post!!!
Next on the list, Shimano SLX brakes, or Hope M4's, and a Rockshox Recon Gold, or Reba Air forks.

2.5kg lighter? I doubt will be that much - remember to add sealant weight, rim strips, valves to that.0

My current tyres are 2507g each, new ones are about 500g. My rims are already 512g lighter.White Bikes, make the best bikes.

Jesus, 1500g per tyre is insane! Enjoy the new parts though, having lighter wheels and tyres will boost your speed as well!0 -
You don't really need UST tyres for Stans rims. If you want to run tubeless, go for tubeless-ready tyres, and you'll save even more weight: http://www.on-one.co.uk/i/q/TYSCRALFEVO ... e_compound0

Jeez, a kilo saving (non-UST RRs I have are around 525g) on each tyre! That must be the best bang for buck ever0
