Finally pushed the button on new bikes for me and SWMBO this morning and can't wait for delivery!

I've gone for a Reaction GTC Race and have ordered the Access GTC for her indoors!

Bit worried we will look like we have matching track suits but hey it's got to be a better look than a tandem!

Was going to order the GTC Pro for myself but the Race only worked out about £140 more and has better brakes, remote lock out for the forks and weighs a little less. Not had SRAM before so it will be interesting to see how they perform - fingers crossed it will all be just as good as the XT group set on the Pro.

Will post some pics when they arrive from Germany!

Lastly, if you're planning to buy from bike-discount.de then give them a buzz first as we saved a significant amount (360€) off their on line prices - incredible saving as the result of just a 10 minute phone call! 8)

Good tip thanks! But why was this? And how was their English?

Their English is better than our German! No problems at all speaking to them - it's almost embarrassing how useless we are when it comes to second languages!

I called to see what further saving I could achieve buying two bikes together but in all honesty I expect you could get the prices I paid just by calling and asking. I paid 1599€ for my bike against 1799€ on their website and 1439€ against 1599€ for the wife's...

They couldn't do anything on the price of accessories / components though but I have checked their prices against uk shops and they are still the cheapest I can find so really that's no issue.

All in all discount-bike.de definitely live up to their name and are well worth getting in touch with. I hope delivery, packaging and build level of the bikes comes out to be just as good an experience when they arrive. I will post my findings when the time comes :D

    Hope that helps!

Well my wife's bike arrived to day but no sign of mine... Fingers crossed they've just been separated during transit and mine will arrive tomorrow :?

In some ways it was nice not to have both at the same time as it meant I spent more time putting hers together rather than rushing it so I could get to my own.

    Here's the pics...

Its a 16" frame and I had been worried it might have been too small but it seems to be just right however the seat post at its lowest setting (as pictured in the last 2 pics) is still about an inch too long... has anyone got any tips for cutting a bit off or should I just not fanny about and get on with it?

Just cut a bit off. But make sure it's within minimum insertion limit when raised.

    Bike looks so dope.

How did you get money off, out of interest? Just asked if they could do you a better price? I don't get haggling on bikes.

Pretty much mate... Think it went along the lines of... "hi, I'm planing to buy two carbon frame cubes from you. One for my wife and one for me. She likes the access GTC and I like the reaction GTC race. What are your best prices for each of those?"

So nothing too technical... I've done it quite a bit recently on larger (high value) multiple purchases and in the last month have saved myself about £340 in total for the sake of a few 10 minute phone calls - if you don't ask you don't get!

Nice i like the stylin on cubes. The rear mech does look very stretched on your bike in the photo when on the large sprocket/middle ring combo, could just be the angle of the photo though.

I've had a GTC pro for around one and a half years now without any issues, raced xc, marathons and 24hrs on it. Great bike. Changed the stem for a slightly shorter one and wider bars have been the only upgrades I needed.

Cheers guys... And lol at the rectangle joke - took me a minute!

Here's a couple more pics of mine after a late night ride last weekend. Hope to be back out on it tomorrow and more over the weekend. Might have to start a thread in the readers rides section if I remember to take some better pics 8)
