Hi all

Didn't know what section to put this in so mods feel free to move. A friend has sent me a tcx file via email of a route for my Garmin however I'm having some problems as follows

When I try to download file to a location using Firefox it asks me to browse where to put it? Not a clue
When and if I do manage it. How do I get it to Garmin connect and or my 800

I'm a bit of a tech biff so nice easy instructions please. Thanks

As long as you can see your 800 as an external disk (h/g or whatever) there will be a folder such as H:/garmin/NewFiles which is where you need to copy and paste the tcx file to. Once you have (safely) disconnected the 800 from your computer boot up the 800 and then go to the courses on the 800 and it should be there. You will need to turn on the turn by turn guidance before using it if you need the guidance.

There is a programe called Bike Route Toaster (google) you can import routes, courses either tcx or gpx depending on which format your Garmin uses, have literally just uploaded a course to my edge 605. You need to register but no big deal

BRT is awesome. It can export directly to Garmin so you dont need to mess about knowing which directory to put files in.

'Course Creator' -> 'Courses' -> 'Browse' -> 'Load you TCX file' -> then onto 'Summary' tab -> Fill in Info box and set it away

I dont think you need to register unless you want to save your routes on their website.
