I have a GT Avalanche 1.0 2011 Disc, its blackish / grey / red in colour, its on the blackish part that i have a scratch, its nothing huge or major, but the bike isnt that old and would like to sort it out and then put heli tape over it, the scrach is like 2 small circles but you can see the metal.
now the reason for my post is mainly because theres obviously so many shades etc i was hoping someone may have had this bike and had to paint it them selfs and knew the correct one to get?
its not totaly black sometimes i think it maybe a little on the light shade of black, im confusing myself i think, hopefully someone knows this bike and can advise?
the pic below is the same bike as mine, i just pulled it off the net.
would i also be best putting a coating of an anti rust coating before or after or just leave that?
thanks, james

I'd just get the nearest match, if not just black, from local motor factors / halfords. Touch up, tape then forget and enjoy the riding.
You'll get far more anyway so don't worry too much0 -
It's aluminium. It doesn't rust.I don't do smileys.

+1 and you'll get more scratches, I wouldn't worry about patching it.0 -
A black permanent marker will hide most scratches on black then just put some black car polish over it and helitape0
