Hi,
I have had a clicking noise coming for the crank area for a week or so now and having investigated believe it could be the pedals. There is circa 3mm of sideways play on the pedal axle which I'm convinced shouldn't be there.
These are m980 xtr spd pedals, the 2011/12 version.
Anyway, relatively handy with a spanner so was going to servic but cannot find an accurate instruction set for how to take apart, service etc. can find something for the old xtr set but the new ones have a different looking lock on set. Can anybody help or point me towards a link?
Thx
Ian

Will an exploded view help? The Shimano Europe Technical Document Archive is a great place to start.

Make sure your spanner is a real good tight fit on the gold locknut it is made out of philadelphia cheese and will round off if you so much as sneeze on it. A flare nut spanner is a good idea less chance of slipping. Otherwise they are the same as any other Shimano pedal for servicing, plenty of vids on youtube.Fig rolls: proof that god loves cyclists and that she wants us to do another lap0
