I have just put a front mech on my 456SS after having run 1x9.
I'm having trouble with the chain getting sucked up between the chain ring & chain stay when shifting in to the granny ring.
Set up:
Deore hollowtech 2 cranks, 22/36/bash
SLX Front mech
SLX rear mech
SRAM PC971 chain
SRAM PG970 cassette
SLX shifters

something is worn or catching
maybe chain line
not using a ss outer chainring
stiff chain link0 -
sounds like chain tension to mee, too many links in the chain?? also check the spring in the rear mech's pinging back enough and taking up the slack in the chain,Timmo.

If the big chainring is the one that was in place before, then it may be worn, and is "grabbing" the chain, rather than letting it shift properly to the granny.0
