what fs bike for £1000? new or second hand

basically, once ive sold my car i may look to get a new bike. im leaning towards a full susser. i was originally thinking of a boardman team from halfords. what im wondering is whether id be better getting a used bike for around the same money?

Depends what the bike is - is hard to give advice as obviously what is available changes. But always make sure it is in good condition. Remember you have no warranty.

mainly trail centres at the moment, such as cannock and degla. we are also going up to 7 stanes in september. i know its a bit of a difficult one as , like you say, prices vary. i just wondered what i could potentially aim at used for that sort of money.0

The boardman sounds ideal for that sort of riding, the spec is ridiculous for the money and the frames are good.0
