Down to 2 options, forget money/spec etc - I am interested in how the thing will ride principally, I can upgrade any part (although the lack of bolt through on the lap is a potentially costly concern) but I want downhill confidence coupled with not being impossible to ride up a hill but would sacrifice climbing to some extent (reasonably fit)

Canyon Nerve AM 7 (specifically chose the 7 over the 8 as I don't like sram)

or

Lap zesty 314

yes the lap is £600 more but the the frame quality seems better

Headset angle is another concern

Has anyone ridden both and can compare?

due to my size (5ft 10 with relatively short legs but long torso) its a small canyon and a med lap, if that helps

must be quite some frame, shame they couldn't be bothered to spec a better fork on it

Norco Sight 2 is really nice. I rode one at the weekend. Much nicer than the Zesty and I would certainly buy one over the Canyon just because of the easier support from a UK dealer network IF you have any problems.
I even prefered the Sight to the Trance X1 which is the nicest bike I have owned.

What are you basing that on?

the 9 is great but I would wreck a XTR crank in 5 mins, really need something I can take of and fit a bash and chaindevice to - could buy it, flog the crank though??
