Should be easy to spot. I'll browse through gumtree over the next few days. Tell your mate to do the same.
My brother-in-law got three bikes stolen - they all turned up on Gumtree about 6 hours later. He got them all back, but the police were very slow. Not becuase of resources, but because the officer assigned to the case had no idea about IT and had to be shown how to use a computer.2007 Felt Q720 (the ratbike)

Scary that...i ride it most days. Usually feels quite safe, you do get the odd scrote knocking about that area though.
RIP to the fella.0 -
I'd just like to put my hands up and let you all know I took my mudguards off this morning.
Sorry if you got wet on the way home!I used to just ride my bike to work but now I find myself going out looking for bigger and bigger hills.0 -

Yep, got wet....minus the light waterproof as well (met office fail)....first time in ages though.
Lovely ride in again this morning. I'm certain this has been mentioned on here but why wear one of those yellow waterproof jackets in glorious weather? Must sweat buckets...0 -

I saw loads of people in full waterproof coats, I really don't understand why. I was melting in my jersey.
There was still quite a strong headwind for me coming east to west. Typically that has all but gone now so as usual no return tail wind :evil:0 -

Same here with the headwind...took the road bike today as the commuters gone again. Thought it was handling wrong on the ride home. When I got back and checked, one of the spokes had punctured the rear wheel  ...the amount of mechanicals i've had this year can only mean one thing...new bike.0 -

Ouch, I've been looking at new bikes, but I have decided to save up and wait for the 2015 Defy Advance SL to come out. I really like the idea of disks0 -
Anyone doing the Northern Angel this weekend?I used to just ride my bike to work but now I find myself going out looking for bigger and bigger hills.0
-
The reasons why not
1: Wedding anniversary on Saturday, so I'll be out late
2: Night shift Sunday night
3: (Most importantly) You have your mudguards off

Planning to yes! As long as it isn't forecast for set in rain!0 -
Are you riding to the start? Shall we meet up somewhere on the way?
@Anthdci: Sorry, left them off today too!I used to just ride my bike to work but now I find myself going out looking for bigger and bigger hills.0 -

Nah I was between riding to the start and doing the short route and driving and doing the 80 miles and I think I'm going to do the 80 miles. We could meet at the start if you like? Be warned I'm slow lol0 -

there were quite a few swear words directed your way on the ride home last night that's for sure.0 -

I think only that super storm we had win 2012 got me more soaked than last night. Mind you I had started to dry off by 8 miles in as had stopped. Only difference to my normal attire was my waterproof overshoes, no point in putting a coat on because I'd be just as soaked through sweat, less to dry off too. However the white parts of my jersey were nearly see through!0 -

Missed that one cycling....ended up stuck on the bus near the Corner House. Walked home 4 miles from that point along the coast road....wading through shite and water up to my knees in parts.0 -

I got home 4 hours before my college who left before me to get the metro. Only took 20mins longer than normal and that involved picking my bike up and wading through 2 lakes on the felling bypass next to gateshead stadium and then another lake on follingsby lane.0 -

PM'd you my number. I didn't expect to be fast either, especially when the hills kick in.
EDIT - No I didn't, PM doesn't want to work will try later
Ah the 2012 flood, happy days:
Took me a whole extra 20 minutes to get home. Someone I worked with took about 5 hours in her car thanks to every junction on the coast road turning into a lake.I used to just ride my bike to work but now I find myself going out looking for bigger and bigger hills.0 -

Chucking it down here and not feeling well so it's an abandon for today.0

You missed a cracking ride. I managed 6:25, it was raining when I left but stopped pretty soon after as I left with mudguards on. It rained once on the ride but not too heavy or for too long.

Bobby in a couple of weeks?I used to just ride my bike to work but now I find myself going out looking for bigger and bigger hills.0 -
Initialised wrote:Bobby in a couple of weeks?
Possibly! I might do the 70 mile route (+18 miles Chester-le-Street and back). As nice as the 125 miles route looks it might prove a bit much!
Although I'm still considering C2C for the second weekend in August if I can figure out a sensible way to get to Whitehaven.0 -
nice out isn't it? Not seen so many fair weather bikers out for a long time. Shame they can't keep it up as soon as it gets a bit nippy and drizzly.0

Bobby looks pretty damn huge, I didn't realise it went all the way to the Scotish border: http://www.mapmyride.com/gb/newcastle-u ... -158137705
