Cube Ltd or Merida Matts TRAIL 500???

Genesis one

I am looking at a new Hardtail and am looking for advice on which of the two following are better bikes. Whilst the Cube has better spec, including hydraulic brakes & air shocks I am wondering if the Merdia is a better quality bike with more suitable geometry? I would love to hear your views plus any other recommendations in same price range (was also looking at Genesis & Stevens). Thanks

The Merida has a mediocre fork - I wouldn't.
As for 'suitable geometry' - how long is a pice of string?
