Installing front 2x9 front mech help

i have just converted to 2x 9 setup and have purchased a 2nd hand slx 2 x9 front mech, i have setup plenty of front mechs with triple rings but none with double, i checked shimanos web page but i have no bashguard to align it with. Anyway how high to i install it or is there any tricks i should know about before i give it a go this weekend. Thanks in advance for any help.

    The key thing is to make sure the sideways ramp feature on the cage falls in such a place that its always above the chain when in the smaller ring and below it when in the larger.
    Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.
