Hi guys.
I promise this will be my last post on the subject of a new bike!
Firstly, thanks to supersonic for posting the link to this bike in my other thread.
http://www.bike-discount.de/shop/k1830/a58198/zr-team-6-0.html?mfid=52.
I really like this, seems to be well spec'd for the price (works out to about £640). I have had a good look and can't seem to find anything as well spec'd for the price. Cant seem to find many bikes on sale anywhere that match this either.
Its an unknown brand to me, and obviously mail order too.
Would really value the opinions of you guys on here.
Thanks
Dan

Excellent spec for the money, but never seen a real one, and I doubt many people have so....you pays your money, you takes your chance.
But the bits are good, and no one really makes rubbish frames except in the BSO category (it's probably made in the same factory as numerous 'name' brands) so it's probably worth a punt.I don't do smileys.

Would the brakes come the UK way round on this bike i.e front brake right hand?0
-
Probably not - it's a simple enough job though and many people on here have swapped the levers over after purchasing cheap shimano brakes from Germany.0

Hmm. Will the gear shifters be the correct way round? Rear mech on the right hand.0

They are great bikes spec wise and a frame is a frame.
They get good reviews in germany and seem popular over there.
I ordered the radon ZR team 7.0 at the weekend when it was deal of the day with 100 euros off worked out at around £750 with postage.
It has a shorter top tube length by about 20mm then similar bikes.
I guess this will put you in a more up right riding position hence why they class it as a tour bike.
The race version seems to be similar frame wise to the likes of boardman but was an extra 100 euros and not as good spec.
If the frame turns out to be rubbish i can get a new on one inbred frame for £139.0 -
I was also looking at the Cube Acid. The top tube length is size 18" is 545mm.
But the radon geometry has a longer top tube than the cube, with a top tube length of 570mm, again in size 18".
This doesn't really mean much to me to be honest.
Is it easy to swap the hydraulic lines over? I've looked on net but am unsure whether i'd need to bleed them afterwards or not and whether I would have to get new olives for the line connectors.0 -
You'll have to bleed them, but I don't think you'll need new olives.0

Was that the white with yellow version, was on offer today too.
Looking at the pic it looks like that model has symetrical brake levers so they can be switched over without disconnecting lines.0 -
No i got the white blue version that was on offer at the weekend, would of preferred the black version but did not want to wait and see if it came on as the deal of the day.
Yea the breaks should be just a case of swapping them from one side to the other instead of fiddling about with changing hoses.0 -
Great value bikes by the looks of things.
Definitely not a case of 'you takes your chance' in my book - these are big outfits in Germany and the Germans are used to good engineering.
Rose, Radon, Canyon and Cube really show the way with spec' and pricing. USA and UK bikes seem to cost way more and some of the spec' is abysmal for the price.0
