Has anyone got one or experience of one? I did fancy the Focus Izalco Pro 3.0 but the more sporty frame may not suit my back on longer runs, so I was then recommended this http://www.evanscycles.com/products/spe ... e-ec030134, which maybe a more sensible buy for me? I do prefer the look of the Focus but I may have to be more realistic and go for the extra comfort the Roubaix may/will provide. Any thoughts or info on both machines? Thanks in advance.

I was very close to buying a Roubaix last year, very nice bike - nice and relaxed geometry and very smooth. However, do check out some other rides because you do pay a substantial premium. In the end, after much deliberation and research, I took the plunge and went for a Ribble Gran Fondo, nicely specced up, and it is truly fantastic.

Thanks for that BigLights, that has given me something to think about, just had a little look on the site and you can build a very nice spec bike for less than the Roubaix.

I would not spend £2500 on a Ribble. They are built around cheap frames which are good value for money at the lower price points but not worth basing a £2500 bike around.

All of the big brands do a "sportive" style bike like the roubaix. The Giants are supposedley decent.

Or you could even get a custom built steel frame and spec it yourself (thats probably what Id do)

That has given me something else to think about Styxd thanks lol! I hear what you are saying though RE Ribble though, I had heard this before about their frames, but I have read the customer reviews on here and folk seem happy with them, although I don't think they have spent £2500 on theirs. I will keeping looking, although the Roubaix does get a good write up on here and other places, and Tom Boonen did quite well on his, albiet his was the Pro SL4!! lol

Have a look at Canyon bikes. Super cheap due to weak Euro and direct. Only problem is you can't really try one! :( I'm looking for one to test run ;(
