As title, bearing shot and the ones that are inserted are VP A66ACM marked on cap.
bearing dimensions are 47x34x7 c/w 45deg. and 41.8x30.2x8 c/w 45deg.
Where can I buy them ? or even better a upgrade maybe ?
TIA

    Mind if I ask 2 questions (I have a 2010 variado)
I thought these headsets were reliable - How did yours fail after just a year?
How do you know those in the link above are correct?

Looked like water had got to bottom bearing either through washing bike or the rain ?
Sizes on description match exactly to my bearings.

Just seeing this on my PC now. I thought the browser on my phone was not showing all the info, but it's not - I'm confused!

Above, you are saying you need "47x34x7 c/w 45deg. and 41.8x30.2x8 c/w 45deg" but the only sizes I can see in the wiggle page are:
    Product Description: 41.8mm - 47mm - 15mm AND
    Product Description: 1 1 / 8" - 1.5" - 10mm OR
    Exploded actual product image: 51.9 X 40
    45o X 45o (The "o" is degree)

So, with my "L" plates firmly attached to my back: how do you translate what you listed in your post (I presume you read these off the bearings themselves) to the product description above? I think the bearings in my 2010 variado are ok, but I'd like to know how to get new ones if I need them (I'm interested because I didn't have a good experience with Focus when I asked them for some touch-up paint, and the dealers never responded either).

Sorry if I'm being really thick

41.8mm is the outside diameter of small bearing
47mm is the outside diameter of large bearing
The 15mm is the combined height of the two bearings together
Not sure as to picture but the rest add up to fit.

I've been really struggling with this - just ordered one - if it fits I'll be bloody delighted.

    Cheers.

    Hi
I have the same problem on a 2010 focus cayo 1.0, and I too need to replace the headset. Is the wiggle link above right for the Cayo 1.0 too?

This is a hard one to google, so all hints and advices are much appreciated.

  • Hi,

I have come up against the same problem. How did this replacement work out for you?

When it arrived, did it fit?

If so I will be buying on myself. Maybe a couple more for the future...

Did you take the 15mm option?

    Cheers

Bringing this back from the dead.

Wiggle , and no-one else for that matter, sell the Ritchey headset that I linked to originally.
So after a bit of a search the best I came up with is http://www.kineticbikebearings.com/

    For top bearing MH-P08H8 http://www.kineticbikebearings.com/catalogsearch/result/?cat=&q=MH-P08H8
    For bottom bearing MH-P22 http://www.kineticbikebearings.com/catalogsearch/result/?cat=&q=MH-P22
