New tyre & inner tube recommendations.

Been cycling since mid September 2011 after a 10 year break, I now try to do 2 rides per week now with a combined average up from 15 miles to 50 miles and steadily growing.
Yesterday whilst out came across a guy with a puncture and NO kit to repair it, stupid I guess, but he used mine and fixed it.
My tyres are cracking around the rim, I guess from being stored in the garage for the 10 years without use, after yesterdays episode I'm now going to replace them pronto.
Question is,
I've been looking at these "Schwalbe Land Cruiser" with puncture protection, which would suit me fine, little road use and off road trails also.

Should I add new inner tubes with puncture protection also ?
What do you think on the tyre & inner tube ? and can you recommend a tube ?

Any tube will do as long as its the right size and valve (presta or schrader). I wouldn't recommend slime tubes or downhill tubes as they're too heavy.0
