Ribble stealth or...........

I'm in a slight dilemma. I recently decided that my 2 year old ribble gran fondo needed to be replaced, simply because I fancy a change. I've been looking around at all the options such as ribble, planet x, chinese off eBay etc and I've come to a point where it's out of getting the ribble stealth new or wait around for a second hand bargain from one of the big names such as trek, giant, specialized etc.
Basically I'm looking for some advice as to wether the stealth is an excellent bike that could match up to the big boys with regards to climbing, handling and most importantly fun.

I was going to say new bike wins every time...but, ive seen 2 year old bikes that apparently havent seen the light of day, brought, admired, but hardly ridden.
I remember seeing a 2 year old £1800 Bianchi, local to me, hardly used, went for circa £900 on ebay. I was seriously seriously tempted, but already had eyes on a Ribble Sportive Racing.
Most (if not all) the posts ive seen re peoples opinions of the Stealth have been very good, very complimentary. The only niggle i seem to remember (and i cant remember if it related specifically to the Stealth) was the matt CF is a bugger for showing marks, grease, sweat, whatever.
I'd consider second hand, but it'd have to be 'like new'.0
