worn chain ring bolt

Hi all
I've been trying to replace my outer chain ring on my mountain bike. I unscrewed three bolts but the fourth is completely worn. I can't get a good grip on it with the allen key and i've just made it worse. Is there anyway of removing the little bas****d?
I will take it the bike shop but they will probably suggest i replace the whole crankset and I can't afford one.
In general is it a good idea to repalce these bolts now and then? The bolt that attatches the rear derailleur hangar to the frame was also very worn and difficult to unscrew. The metal on these bolts seems to corrode and wear very quickly.

If they are alloy, easy to drill. Or try and wedge a torx bit in. If they are steel, I doubt you've rounded it at all!0

Oh also, try twisting the rings, if you've got the other 3 off from side to side and grab the back0

Hey, that twisting the ring idea actually worked and it has made my night.
Sounds like getting steel bolts, rather than alloy, might be an idea also...0
