New Wheel advice

I am thinking of buying some new wheels and I am tempted by the Mavic Aksium. Can I ask if anyone has used these for light off road use such as toe paths? I am concerned that they are more a pure road wheel and so will buckle easily.
Any other suggestion for mainly road use with some toe path style riding?
Thanks

Yep got a pair that came with my first bike & now sit on the winter bike.
They are pretty good for the money, I did have a slight problem with them at first but was a warranty issue and replaced with no issues by my LBS.

I live in Milton Keynes so plenty of red ways, bike paths, foot paths etc in varying states from nice and smooth to pretty cut up (most have trees planted along sides so uneven from roots and small stones) and not had any major issues other than the occasional puncture.

I've trained on them, put them on the turbo and my rollers, raced them and ridden through the winter and for the money if i was needing another set I don;t think I could go to wrong for the price.
Pain hurts much less if its topped off with beating your mates to top of a climb.
