Chain lock?

I recently bought a Specialized Secteur Sport (my first road bike) and am getting fairly into it.
However, I currently have a Kryptonite d-lock, fixing it to the frame is a hassle and carrying a bag to hold it in the current heatwave in London is also a pain in the ass! Sadly I need a lock at all times while cycling due to work ( as a care worker, going between service users homes all day).

My bike is insured and requires a sold secure silver rating, and am wanting to purchase a chain lock that I can wear/wrap around the seat. The Hiplock http://www.evanscycles.com/products/hiplok/v150-wearable-chain-lock-ec028640#features looks like my best bet, or are there any other decent chains that are easy to carry that might be a bit stronger than the Hiplock at around the same price?

Cheers

D

absolutely not a safe chain for london

if you want a secure chain, it's going to be *much* heavier than your d-lock

    best is to read here...

...the first post in the thread is updated regularly, you don't need to read the whole (long) thread

get a nylon strap, you can use it to sling your d-lock over your shoulder, simple

I use a chain for my bike when I lock it up outside the office in brilliant Brentford; it's an Almax Immobiliser IV and it plus lock weigh more than the bike. I wouldn't use anything less.

Sorry to say but if he wants your bike, it'll be stolen

    large

resorted to locking it around my seat post and saddle bag. Probably not all that safe, but it'll do.
