My husband is looking to purchase a bike to cycle to work and to country rides on he has up to £1000 to spend. He is currently looking at a Scott Aspect 10, Whyte 805 and a Bianchi Jab 7300 he also likes Felt bikes. Can you please advise or recommend which is the best?

You really need to be clearer on his usage, will he be going properly off road or just on light trails (smooth and flat), what proportion is on road and what proportion off road.

Make sure he is fully aware of teh costs involved in cycle to work, especially the 'Fair Market Value' purchase cost at the end of the years 'rental'.

What (if any) scheme do his employers use as it may limit what brands he can get or where he can shop.
Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.

It will be mainly used for road cycling but he is not interested in a higbreed/indurance.
