Sunny and 19 degrees outside here so i though why not take the bikes outside for some fettling... That led to some crappy quality phone cam pictures so i thought i'd show you my latest two rides. A 2008 Norco Sasquatch and 2011 Stumpjumper Comp. Image heavy cos i went mad with the camera...
2008 Norco Sasquatch
Fancied something tough and sturdy for jumping and also been interested in long travel hard tails for a while now so a second hand buy at £350 - literally twice used by the previous owner (he rode it twice then bought a full suss and left this to sit for years).
Are those bawmers?
It needed a new front brake so i got an Elixir 5 for £75 quid with a 203 rotor
Frame 6061 Alloy heavy duty shore inspired tubing and geometry, hydraform DT, milled HT, chainstay yoke
Fork Marzocchi 55 R, 160mm trvl, Rebound
Cranks Chainguide Truvativ Hussefelt, 22/32/bash guard, Howitzer Spline BB
Front Mech Shimano Alivio
Rear Mech Shimano Deore
Shifters Shimano Alivio, 8 spd
Bar and Stem Syncros 50mm stem and 660mm bar
Front Brake Avid Elixir 5, 203mm
Rear Brake Avid Juicy 3, 185mm

The stumpy was a price match by Edinburgh Cycles, i found an ex demo one online for 1400 and Edinburgh had no problem price matching it in store with a quick check of the website! I was trying it on really but i was surprised when they did it anyway.0

Wow, fair play!
To be fair, I think bike shops tend to be pretty flexible with things like that if you're dropping such a large wad of cash in one go.0 -
Took the norco out today for some hucking and can confirm it rides well, although i may need a blackspire stinger as it seems to drop the chain a tad. Overall a good purchase, for being such heavy duty frame construction its very compliant.0
