on my front elixir 3 a rubbing sound comes from the pads constantly and on closer inspection one of the pads touches the disk, and there is no clearance, how would i fix this?

    Do they work fine?

    Some rubbing is normal.

how do you adjust the pads so that they centre themselves, says something about loosening two bolts and then squeezing the lever and tighting the bolts back up, but which two bolts would it be?

that is for centering the caliper.

all covered in the downloadable manual and also Parktools.

the bolts that hold the caliper to the frame/fork/adaptor. If you are not sure see the manual/Parktools.

theres two bolts that hold the caliper to the frame, with the washers etc between, and then two bolts going through the caliper body, none of the above say which two bolts it needs to be

Avid® disc calipers are mounted using a cup-and-cone washer system that allows the caliper to adjust to the rotor (Figure 1).
