Brake question

My bike came with avid elixir 3s on it, 180 front and 160 rear. The mounts on them are labelled 20mm? Why is this? And If I'm wanting to increase rotor size to 180 rear, is it as simple as just buying the 180 rotor and 180 avid is adaptor? Thanks

    You will need a rear 180mm adaptor and a 180 disc. Front and rear adaptors can be different.

    Ok thanks, just thought I'd read somewhere that the adaptor size wasn't same as rotor size ie 160 adaptor for 180 rotor

    Well a rear 180 used on the front will need a 200 dsc.

    And then there is post mounts.
