The netted helmet liner...

What's it really for? I've heard the theory that it's to keep insects out, but then I've also heard it is to redirect air flow (presumably to keep you warmer). Anyone got the answer?

    Depends on the material I guess. Normally though they are to keep insects out.

    they're not all netted of course, some just come as a liner, as you say, for warmth. The Giro ones are both, netted and for winter use for insulation.
