When your son's done with his olympic torch can I buy it off him for £500?
Just seen another one go for £157,000! Get it on eBay even if he's yet to use it (as someone in Wales just did) as I suspect there will be quite a lot of them up for auction soon.
To be honest I'm not 100% certain your boy will get one, but I sincerely hope he does; he well deserves some good luck.

As tempting as it is to sell, I'm sure he'll be keeping it By the time there's 8000 of them in the wild, I'm sure values will be more realistic. Might need to think about insuring it though! :shock:ROAD < Scott Foil HMX Di2, Volagi Liscio Di2, Jamis Renegade Elite Di2, Cube Reaction Race > ROUGH0

I saw on TV today that the cost of manufacture of the torches exceed the price people were charged to buy it.
If that is true, thats a bit strange.FCN 3: Raleigh Record Ace fixie-to be resurrected sometime in the future

So the torches cost around £500 to make (£495) and are being offered for sale to the runners from £195 to £210 I believe (depending upon when you ordered it) - some runners are just being given them.
I guess the dilemma is do you charge these people who have been chosen based upon some contribution normally the full cost? It would then come down to an ability to pay. I'm not sure how fair that would be.ROAD < Scott Foil HMX Di2, Volagi Liscio Di2, Jamis Renegade Elite Di2, Cube Reaction Race > ROUGH0 -
