Hi there
Been tinkering with an old bike, (before touching my good one) changing rotors, new cables etc and now looking at the bottom bracket and folks. What tools are required to remove and fit a bottom bracket and change over a fork?

Depends on the BB and the fork - could be lots.

BB's - correct BB tools - one for each and a crank tool for the Isoflow.
    Forks - Allen keys

I'd take the bike to a bike shop and get the lot done, faced at the same time the rest won't cost much more as the tools you need are once use for the old bits

Read Parktools. It has all the info for all the BBs and all the headsets and lists the tools.

I just got back in the saddle and needed to transfer everything off a C2W bike onto a frame I'd bought. I've spent about 30 quid on a 'bikehand' toolset, which has all the basics for removing everything. It isn't the greatest quality but has done the job, especially for stuff like BB removal and crank etc. I've also spent 6 squid on a missing link tool, mainly because having nearly sliced my thumb off with a pair of needle nose pliers, I decided it was a sound investment! I'll probably buy stuff of better quality gradually, (if I see it in a sale etc) but for now it's adequate.

Oh and I also bought a cheap headset press for a £5 off ebay, basically a threaded bar and 2 bits of upvc and some bolts, a bit of a pain to keep the cups straight so in hindsight should have bought a half decent one!

About 50 quid will cover just about everything, and when you consider most LBS would charge that for a few hours work anyways. Good luck.
