Some random ped walking in the opposite direction told me I "should be on the cycle path" (which although 2-way, was on the other side of the road, and I was approaching the first of 2 sets of lights just before turning off left for my home). (for clarity, I was on the road, he the pavement)

I was so irritated by this I cycled back after him and forcibly told him why i wasn't, why I don't have to use cycle paths, and what the f*ck does it have to do with him anyway.... it turns out I must be personally responsible for "wasting £70m" spent on cycle paths...

I wish i could have just let it go, but I was in a heightened state of agitation after some daft cow pulled out on me at a roundabout.

But you know what? Thinking about it, he was a tosser, so f*ck him, actually i don't feel ashamed

How ungrateful of you - they sped 70m on cycle tracks and you don't use them

There are some people for whom a lack of knowledge is no barrier for loud indignation. Was he pointing with the stem of his pipe?

We all have moments like that; I was really rude to a woman driver a couple of weeks ago - offensively rude - because she gave me a 'tut tut' type gesture as I cycled past her in traffic. Felt bad about it afterwards because I don't like 'descending to their level' and should be able to rise above it all. I guess if it's a 'one-off' or rare occurrence we can be forgiven......

I had a similar experience last week.

I had a massive rant at a bloke in a little London Underground van (Escort size) that ended in me shouting, "You should look in your f*cking wing-mirror, you tw@!" because he began reversing into the road I was cycling on. I had to do an emergency left around him to avoid him hitting me whereupon he moved forwards and to the left almost hitting me again. Now, of course he was massively putting me in danger and I had a right to be pi*sed off about it, but he actually couldn't possibly have seen me. There were no rear windows in his van, he wouldn't have seen me in the wing mirror anyway, and he couldn't possibly have manoeuvred any other way. The problem was he had been given a dangerous van riddled with blind spots. I felt really bad afterwards and was even going to knock on his window and apologise if I met him at the lights, but I guess he went a different way.
