small amount of play in bb chainset crank bolt tight only few months old any ideas

    Read the manual.

    Add grease to the bearings.

    in which plane, horizontal or vertical??

    horizontal tighten nut on lhs vertical, could bearings????

    I went through 2 GXP BBs in 9 months on my Canyon Nerve. Both times the non drive side bearing cover had come away from the bearing allowing crud and water to get in and knacker the bearing. Gone to a Shimano SLX set up and so far no problem. Fingers tightly crossed.

    Same for me, original SRAM BB lasted about 6 months.
