As a newbie to mtb...which of my soon to wheels choices would you lean towards to commute/trail ride

voodoo, it is a much better spec and more future proof
better colour, better fork, hydraulic discs and no v'sworst moment ever...

Also, from what I've tried in store (and as a fellow beginner), there seems a more definite bite with less lever travel on hydraulics.0

disk brakes and especially hydros
advantages
have more power if dry and particularly the wet/ mud
generally less maintenance
more bite and less effort at the lever to apply a giving braking force
no mechanical drag in cables if hydro
dirty hoses wont deteriorate the brake feel and power if hydro
easy to up power and heat dissipation with bigger rotor and mount
longer lasting pads that can be altered to riding conditions
less fade
are not really affected by a slightly buckled wheel
wont ruin tyres if not set up perfectly
look better/ cleaner bike lines
disadvantages
heavier than v brakes
more complicated to service
pads more expensive but last longer
if oil gets on pads its game over need new ones and clean the rotors
if you get rotors that are to large then you can potentially damage forks etcworst moment ever...
