Cotic frames

Thinking of ordering a Cotic BFE frame for XC / trail centre thrashing as i've only got my DH bike and a 6.5inch travel coil sprung enduro which is very overkill for most XC so i'm getting rid.

I'm going to stick some 36's on front but lower them from 160, has anyone else got one of these frames? Just wondering what travel you run on it and how they feel in general. I'm torn between 140 and 130. Any other general opinions would be great cheers.

Was also thinking of getting an NS surge but they seem really long compared to a lot of other stuff

Lived with my mates bfe for 6 weeks or so and it seemed as happy at 140mm as 130mm but my personal pref was 140mm. All Si's bfe measurements on the site are measured off 130mm fork with 40mm sag. Wind-ey up and down-ey travel is great for experimenting tho.

The 36's i've got aren't the Talas's so they'll be fixed! i'll drop it to 140 first and see how I get on, once it's down as far as 130 i'd have to get a new spring to go back so will try the safe option first ta

I've only ever had 140mm forks on my BFe. They feel fine. I might swap them with the 36 talas forks from my other bike sometime. Just out of curiosity.

They're warrantied up to 160mm I think, or the newer ones are, I could imagine it's doable but you'd have to spend time adjusting and repositioning.

Also worth noting that there's a new bfe coming out in July. 44mm head tube, cowled dropouts, in bright green or black. £350.
