Canyon frameset - which handlebars?

Hi guys,

Looking to buy a Canyon frameset this summer but I am not keen on the Ritchey handlebars - I love my flat top Zipp carbon handlebars but I understand I won't be able to use this because of stem incompatibilities (stem and handlebar to be used as a combo).

Does anyone here use a road Canyon frame with a different set to handlebars than the Ritchey ones?

Cheers

You can use any 31.8mm bars

Ahh ok I misread you want to use your own stem as well. Why not just use nail polish remover to get rid of the Ritchey logo on the stem

Yes you can use carbon bars with alu stem

Wow, this is a surprise...

Yes you can use your Zipp bars if they are 31.8mm. The only thing you need to be careful about it over-torquing them. But the same goes if whether you're using a carbon or alu stem. A bit of that carbon assembly paste helps increase friction at the contact point so less torque is needed. You'll get a torque wrench with the frame.

Enjoy. They're very nice frames in my experience. Which model?

only reason I am going Canyon is because they do a frame that fits for not a lot of money EKIMIKE

anyway, I am looking at their basic carbon frame so nothing fancy, in white.

I can't use my Zipp bars as they are 26mm unfortunately.

Good decision then: Fit is > Almost everything else

They're not the prettiest of things but they ride incredibly well.

Why not just get a stem with a 26mm clamp? Cheaper option than picking up a decent set of bars to fit the stem!

Proprietary stem. 1 1/4 steerer tube compared to the standard 1 1/8. They don't do one with 26mm at the other end. You won't find one anywhere (even the Syntace one is 31.8mm)

You looked into shimming it gabriel?
