Edinburgh Wednesday formalized its bid to host the Tour de France in 2017, with a prologue in the Scottish capital before a course which could cross Britain southward. Those responsible for stressed the success of popular starting in London in 2007. Yorkshire has already stated it wants to start the Tour de France 2016.

A prologue over all those tram lines (assuming they'll have finished laying them by then of course)?

Glasgow's miles better.

They could have a city centre prologue followed by a stage up Loch Lomondside and through the Trossachs, possibly ending in Stirling.
Or a Callander sprint finish.

I'm a Glasga boy, however a prologue up the cobbles of the Mound and onto the Castle Esplanagde would be incredible.

Last time I was walking over these I was thinking more a classics-type stage that finished at the top.
