Any solicitor recommendations?

Got cleaned up on Monday night.

All my clothes / bike / glasses / phone destroyed, plus some pretty nasty facial scarring, luckily nothing broken. Police sent me all the drivers details as I was out cold and on a spinal board.

Just wondered if anyone has any recommendations for the next step. I'm based in Leeds for reference. Thanks!

Russell Jones and Walker, I'm sure they're the ones British Cycling recommend.

Good luck and get well soon.

Can't recommend, but RJ&W, Leigh Day & Co and Alyson France are often mentioned. Have a look at the sticky in Commuting General; that's written by a solicitor, I think.

    Heal up fast.

I used RJW when I got wiped out by an idiot who then wouldn't pay for damages he'd caused... They were very good, probably the most professional experience I have had with a lawyer. My experiences before that had largely been conveyancing and property solicitors who are generally a useless bunch IME...

You get what you pay for! Always helps if you have a personal contact as well, otherwise you'll just be one in a huge pile of jobs...

Firms referred to above all well regarded, to be honest you shouldn't need a "cycling" specialist - any decent claimant personal injury firm should be able to assist.

I think customers are 1 in a huge pile of jobs in many industries but some manage to make you feel a bit "special" but in my experience with conveyancing lawyers, they don't care how you feel. Both times I bought/sold property, the solicitors were absolutely useless. Barely replied to emails, wouldn't phone back on queries, took an age to do anything and missed stuff which I had to bring to their attention. Basically I had to do all the leg work, chasing pushing to get things moving. I complained to the Law Society about 1 and got a refund... RJW were no win no fee but were generally very good at getting stuff done...

I don't think ouch really covers it.

Look on the bright side though, I am advised that checks really dig scars so you should be able to pull now.
