Cannondale trail sl1 or Saracen zen x?

Hi all, new here. Looking to get a bike on the cycle to work scheme. Had settled on a Cannondale sl1 but see my local store has the Saracen zen x. Now i cant decide.

Can get a 2011 Cannondale for £850 or the new for £999. If i went for the Saracen id see if the corporate discount the local shop has would be applied to the cycle scheme making the Saracen £989.10. So not a huge difference in price. Should i go for the 2011 cannondale, the 2012 or the Saracen?

    The Zen is a different type of bike really - tougher build, longer fork and slacker angles for harder riding.

    The Cannondale is for more cross country type terrain.

    Ah didnt realise. That pretty much answers my question i guess. Im planning on doing some triathlons and duathlons as well as some trail and offroad. So a cross country bike sounds like it may be what i need. Any opionions on the sl1?
