Grinding when pedalling

Hi, got a slight annoyance and just thought some of you might know how to sort it. I've got the Boardman Team Carbon 2011 model, and when I'm pedalling i get a strange grinding sound, like the chain is against something. It's at about the same level of noise in every gear apart from the easiest, in which it is much louder and annoying :? Anyone got any ideas? And also anyone here from the High Wycombe area? Would love to meet up with some people as riding is much more enjoyable when you aren't alone as I'm sure you all know. Cheers.

    The chain is maybe rubbing against the cage of the front mech which is a common issue if the adjustment isn't correct.

    does it make a noise on both front chainrings or just the small/large one.

    could be that the front mech needs adjusting slightly.
