Any one care to help me spend my hard earned cash?
I'm fairly new to off roading, (started last year) as you'd expect I'm loving it, its just about taken over my road riding at weekends either on local bridal ways or Brickhill woods (20mins away).
I'm currently riding a mates specialized FSR XC expert but is too big for me, he's 6'2" and i'm 5'10.
I feel for the type of riding we're doing i dont need a full suspension & I'll have a lot of fun on a hardtail which fits me!
I don't really want to buy one of the big name brands that you see every day of the week, I'd like something a bit individual / unusual, I thought I had narrowed it down to two, but the more I look the more I see, and the more confusion sneaks in!!!
1. A Cube Ltd race - http://www.bike-discount.de/shop/k1830/ ... ml?mfid=41
(local shops round me don't stock these so can't try one)
2. Whyte 801 / 805 - http://www.whytebikes.com/2012/bike_pag ... W-1-015-12
(lbs stock these and also have a second hand one that may fit I'm due to try next weekend, but it's a 19" frame)
3. Than I stumbled on these bikes on the Rose website, carbon frames for £1000!!!!
http://www.rosebikes.co.uk/comparison/compare/
Any one heard or seen/got one, I like the look of the phsycho path but can't find any info on it, and the Redbull one seems to be non-existent on my web searches.
Feel free to offer other opinions/options, just spent an hour looking at the on*one website but the nice carbon ones are a bit too much for me, £1100 is an absolute max budget
Ps maybe a stupid question but what's the disadvantages of having a race geometry frame for every day use.

You'll still need to try the bike for size - don't assume all medium bikes will fit. That sort of rules out the Rose unless you understand the geometry figures.
Out of the other two the cube is better spcced, but has the more racy stance - the Whyte has more relaxed angles for stable handling.0
