womens bike under £175

Hello,

just wondering if anyone had any advice on the title. Looking for a bike for the girlfriend and want to keep costs down, i would prefer to get a second hand one which is better spec but is there anything new which will cope well with mostly smooth tracks and light trail?

You could check out the Decathlon range - the basic rockrider 5.0 womens is £99.99, and the next 'unisex' in their range is £150...

Not sure on Carrrera/Halfords, but step up to Giant/Specialised and such like and you'll not find much new below £300. Paul's cycles have a few bikes on offer but again there's next to nothing below £200.

On eBay £180 recently would get you a lightly used Giant Yukon, or slightly more a Spesh Myka.

i doubt thats worth the sale price, never mind the rrp, better off with the decathlons

Same problems, heavy rubbish fork, 7 speed freewheel (as opposed to a freehub), heavy steel bars. Overall a bit of a lump.
That Carrera would be a better ride.
At this price, new, any suspension forks are going to be heavy, undamped and ineffectual.

But as she's a girl find a pink one with flowers, glitter and pixie dust and you're done.
