Hi All,
We're cycling from London - Cambridge on Saturday. All welcome - full details below and on our website. Do let us know if you're coming.

Cheers, Harry & team at Small Wheels, big Difference

________________
Starting on the Southbank Centre for a spot of breakfast, we'll follow the National Cycle Route 1 out of London and up the Lee Valley. From there, we have a gentle climb through the hills of Hertfordshire before rolling down into Cambridge via a spot of lunch in Newton.
Do get in touch if you're planning to join - our ‘charity bikes’ are also available for anyone without a Brompton.

For those on facebook, the event is also here.

The Details:

- Depart 10:00 from Southbank Centre terrace (breakfast at 9:00 for anyone interested)

- 100 km / 63 mile ride along off-road (as much as possible); route here.

- Arrive Cambridge at approx 3 pm (5 hrs including lunch).

Have you actually been and recce'd this route? Not wanting to put a dampner on your plans, but I rode back that way when I did London (Lee Valley Park) to Cambridge and back last August. Most of the route through the Lee Valley was then surfaced with pea gravel about an inch or so deep... it was virtually unrideable at any reasonable pace on road tyres. Of course it may have all changed now...

    Good luck :)

Our paths may cross as I'll be riding London Revolution and we'll be riding up from Excel to the Lea Valley starting around 7:30 and then round via Epping, and the Chilterns to Windsor on day 1.

    Hi All,
thanks for the responses - I've called the Lee Valley park people to see what the route is like, but not much help... will report back and have an alternative parallel route to 'abort' onto if needs be!

    Cheers,
    Harry
