I need new shoes and new Speedplay cleats. I have custom orthotics in my ordinary shoes but they don't fit cycling shoes and am getting some foot pain as I up the miles so I am considering getting esoles - http://www.esoles.com/products/efit_supportive.aspx As I need the whole lot (shoes, cleats and footbeds) for a £35 fee I could get an esoles fit and cleat set up check on new shoes from Yorkcycle works - http://www.yorkcycleworks.com/ York is about an hour and a half drive from my home and money is super tight right now so before I take the plunge does anyone have any feedback/advice on:

The shoe and cleat set-up session from any cyclefit place: http://cyclefit.co.uk/menu

Better still has anyone any feedback on this from Yorkcycleworks?

Any suggestions for alternatives in the North East (I live about ten minutes east of Darlington) would be gratefully accepted of course.

The normal method is cleat positioning is to place the cranks in the horizontal position. Perhaps a block can stop them turning and to sit on your bike and your kness should be dirtectly above the pedal axle. Adjust cleats unil they are if not. This K.O.P.S method does allow a comforable riding position even though it has now biomechanical basis. Seat position may also have to be altered as well. I would do this your self an assistant would make this task easier.
