hello, when i get back from honeymoon in 3 weeks :-) i am going to make a revamp of the garden. apart of this i was hoping to set up some bike storage, currently i store our bikes in the out house which while pretty safe isn't the best location for my bikes and all the other things that go with it. so i know a metal bike shed may be best but very expensive! is there any other options? plus at what point do any of these buildings become or not become inureable? thank you.

There was a similar thread about shed security a while back http://www.bikeradar.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=40020&t=12845865 There was a Shed Shackle product in there.
Not sure what "inureable" was meant to say.Summer - Canyon Ultimate CF SLX 9.0 Team

My pride and joy is in a brick outbuilding. No windows, concrete flat roof and a wooden door with a Yale lock.
Seems relatively secure, don't want do add any more locks on the outside as it would tell people there's something worth taking in there.
Any recommendations for inside? The floor is concrete too.
Sorry to hijack op, I've been thinking about security too!0 -
^^^A good solid ground anchor and chain, but the best thing to have is insurance, cos if someone decides they are gonna take it, that's what will happen unfortunately.0

Yes, look at insurance and the crime figures for your area and go from there. My insurers don't require anything more than a locked shed for values up to £1k so I just make sure I have a couple of decent locks on the shed with good clasps as well. My winter/commuter bike lives at the front of the house under a cover, that is much more secure as it isn't covered by insurance hence I have a wall mounted loop that has been set in using epoxy resin and a very tough Abus D lock that I used to use for my motorbike. Not 100% as there would always be a way around it but as my area has a very low crime rate the risks are worth it.Norfolk, who nicked all the hills?
