Grizedale forest

Planning on a little biking trip away with the missus and was wondering if the way marked forest road routes would be suitable for her? Reading that back it sounds very derogatory! But basically, she's not a regular rider, and she has a carrera subway rather than an mtb with suspension. I just wonder if the bike will cope?
If so, it seems like an ideal place for us to go and potter about together, maybe spark her interest a little and perhaps I'll get to sneak off onto the new black section!!

Should be fine on the easy stuff
Choose your route; http://www.forestry.gov.uk/forestry/infd-5k2c5b
Whinlatter blue is also very good, seen lots of people(men, boys, wimmin & girls)walking in places around that route. Nothing a bog standard bike can`t cope with. Treat her to a decent hire bike?0 -
I can't comment on Grizedale (I will get there this summer) but as above the Blue at Whinlatter will be fine.0

Thanks for replies. Have been round the blue at whinlatter myself, maybe we could combine both in a weekend. I'd love to treat her to a bike, but I need to treat myself to a FS first and I suspect she'd prefer something just as expensive, with just one hoop and precious metals/rare rocks    No sense of priority!0

Loads to choose from in Grizedale. Large waymarked forest road network (easy stuff), the North Face trail, a red route on the easy end of the red scale, and a black section - very steep. There are also some excellent bridleways in the forest that are not waymarked.0
