Shortening Hope braided hoses

I'm going to shorten the Hope M4's steel braided hoses on the BFe. I've found a "how to" video on the Hope website but it is for the black standard hose, not the braided kind. My question is will I need to buy new brass olives or any other parts ? I don't want to start then have to be without the use of the bike while waiting for bits to arrive in the post. Thanks.

Nope, no extra fittings required as the current ones are reusable.

Just have a bottle of DOT 5.1 and a bleed hose ready in case you're hamfisted.

Also, you may need to 'open up' the olive to re-use it... I did this with no problems.... may be worth digging for instructions on trimming the braided type as I remember soemthing about thrimming back the clear outer sheath when I did mine (back in 2006... hence the vagueness lol)

I'll look at the end of the hose I'm shortening and cut the new end to be the same. I remember something about having to trim the outer as well, from when I crashed the Bighit and pulled the braided hose from the M6 lever. That was ages ago so I wasn't sure. I'll make sure to open up the olives a little too. Thanks :D
