Hayes brakes

Hi all
Anyone had experience of Hayes brakes? More specifically Hayes Prime Expert? Are they on par with Shimano/Hope?

I'm looking to upgrade the brakes on my 'dale SL4 from the Tektro Dracos which the bike came with. Are Hayes worth considering?

Any thoughts?

    I have Hayes Stroker Trail. Good stopping power, no maintenence in four years. Other people don't like the feel - too 'wooden'. No idea more specifically though.
