Hoy or Kenny for the male sprint spot at the Olympics?

I would go for Hoy. (But then I am biased because I'm mates with him - grew up with him played rugby together and went to the same school) but he has more power than Kenny.

We are blessed to have both...
2017 - Caadx
2016 - Cervelo R3
2013 - R872
2010 - Spesh Tarmac

Kenny for the sprint, and Hoy for the Keirin.

Moving this into pro-race since it'll get more attention.

(I would move it into track but no-one visits it).

    There's a reason for that.............

Kenny would beat Hoy, but Hoy would beat the rest of the world.

    Therefore I would pick Hoy.

Agreed. Given that it ll likely be the GB guy against one of them mahoosive germans or Bauge...I think Hoy has the beating of those lot tactically and physically whereas Kenny could just be overpowered.

Safe to say that the Keirin is in no doubt - Hoy is the best in the world by a fair margin. In an event as prone to incident as the Keirin, Hoy's record is astonishing.

As for the sprint - we have seen that Kenny can beat Hoy from time to time (3-1 to Hoy this season?) but I just don't see Kenny beating Bauge on the big day.

Has to be Hoy. He has the form, the power, the experience - and for me, he has done enough to earn the right to defend his titles.

I'd put a few quid on Kenny winning the Keirin and Sprint in 2016 though.

All of course a shambles created by the numpties who thought it a good idea to limit each nation to one rider.
You only need two tools: WD40 and Duck Tape.
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the tape.

Hoy - mainly so that they can get Kenny to specialise as man 1 in the team sprint, would massively boost our chances in that event.

I think bigMat has called it right.

It's not just about the mens sprint (and what a fantastic dilema to have!) but its as much about the problem we have in the team sprint.

I'd pick Hoy and tell Kenny that if he wants his medal (he does) then he's got a couple months to sort out the #1 spot in the team sprint.
