Magura HS33 mounting.

I've recently purchased a pair of used Magura HS33 raceline brakes. I was looking at Magura's own video about installation and saw they were using EVO II mounting plates for the installation. However, my brakes came with everything but these mounting plates. I've not been able to find much information online. After looking on google images, I've seen plenty of bikes where the brakes have been installed without these mounting plates, but that's about all.

So I was wondering, is it really necessary for me to them?

Cheers

    Download the manual.

Yes it Is needed unless the fork has "Firmtec" mounts.

  • As a follow up, just for any other people with the same problem.

The manuals on the Magura website only date back until 2006. These newer models all use the EVO II mount or the Firmtech mounting system. However, older models, like my own, do not require them. They are mounted using a different system and the manual can be found here: http://www.birota.ru/manuals/magura/rim ... manual.pdf

The manual is a little vague, but it's better than nothing.

Since old Maguras are quite popular amongst retro bikers, I hope this information will useful for someone during their web searches.
