HI guys & Gals...
My freind and I are looking into doing a little bike ride from London to Amsterdam, and would appreciate any help/advice that can be provided. i.e routes to the port, what port to go from, what ferry companies are best to take you bike on, what to take, (what did you take and didnt use), what would be best camping or staying in hotels, if so what hotels are best.. (for the security of bikes) and the most important question what route would you suggest.

all information/advice is widely recieved.

Thanks

Samuel

    Hi Samuel

There are just too many questions there.

But to offer a suggestion to get you started: what about taking the ferry from Ramsgate to Boulogne? I've not done it so you'll need to research it for yourselves, but Ramsgate is easier to get to than Dover, and Boulogne a nicer place to arrive.

Otherwise you need to consider going via Harwich and the Hook of Holland (I think).

Do a search for info about getting to Dover. There's a nice National Cycle Network route from the south (via Kingsdown IIRC).
  • Thanks Andy,

Some good advice there, it gives me a steping stone.
